Hello, File Relay
When you want to send a large file to somebody, what do you do? You try email. You’ll probably hit a roadblock, though, because your email service may not let you send attachments bigger than 6 MB. The big guys let you send bigger files, but your recipient may not even get it if their email can’t handle it. And if your file is more than 25 MB, forget about email altogether.
That’s a lot to worry about. You just want to send your file!
We think sending files is frustrating, too. We started building File Relay in 2008 to fix this. Our company sends lots of reports, presentations and other large “deliverables” all the time. We’ve been using File Relay for a couple of years, and it’s helped us out quite a bit.
In 2010 we had the bright idea to open File Relay up to the public and turn it into a real product. We’ve been letting friends and colleagues use it, and we know there are even more people out there who hate dealing with email attachments, too.
File Relay is currently in beta. That’s a geeky way of saying that we’re not exactly sure what it’s going to be. We do know that it’s going to get better, but we need your help.
What are we doing right? What are we doing wrong? What can we do to make sending files easier for you? Please tell us. We’re listening. You can also follow filerelay on Twitter.
Sure, there are other services out there. But we think that File Relay is simpler, cleaner and easier to use than those other guys. We hope you do, too.
Please give us a shot, and sign up for an account today.
